KaBOOM! It’s here! In 2010, over 200 volunteers from the Kensington community, Philadelphia Flyers, Wells Fargo, Impact Services Corporation, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and the Conservancy, built a brand new 2,500 square foot playground in McPherson Square Park for hundreds of youth to enjoy.

The new KaBOOM! playground provides hundreds of children with a safe place to play. This playground is the next step in taking back McPherson Square Park, providing a safe and well-maintained public space for the community. In addition to the play equipment, benches and picnic tables were constructed and installed, two community bulletin boards were erected, and the two plant beds at the entrance of the McPherson Square Library were filled in with beautiful native plants. A big thank you to all partners and sponsors, including KaBOOM!, the Philadelphia Flyers, Wells Fargo, Impact Services Corporation, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and of course the Kensington community.
