Fairmount Park Conservancy’s Park Legacy Program is the best way to provide lasting memorials in Philadelphia’s green spaces.

ANNA C. VERNA PLAYGROUND

An unparalleled destination for the Greater Philadelphia Region and beyond; the 2 acre all-inclusive destination playground features a mega swing, an extraordinary 20-swing structure for all ages overlooking Pattison Lagoon, and custom designed “birdhouse” structures with slides and climbing areas that acknowledge FDR Park’s role as a premier bird habitat.

An adventure path winds through the site, providing access to all of the play features in addition to spaces for quiet reflection. Embankment slides are embedded into the rolling hills and a forest of wishbones logs provide an engaging place for climbing, balancing and exploring. In addition to plenty of seating, families can also relax at the picnic pavilion, which is centrally located overlooking the playspace and nestled amongst native plantings.

This signature project for FDR Park is a fitting tribute to the extraordinary and groundbreaking leadership of City Council President Anna C. Verna.

    The seatwall benches are precast, curved concrete benches forming sculptural seating woven throughout the Anna C. Verna Playground.

With your tax deductible donation, you will receive a certificate and appropriate recognition depending on the level of support. Swings and benches will include a plaque engraved with a personal message for the duration of 10 years. All donors of $5,000 and more will also be included on the One Park For All donor wall located at the FDR Park Welcome Center.
