Strawberry Mansion

In 2018, artist collective Amber Art & Design completed a 1-year Community Catalyst residency at the historic Hatfield House, located in East Fairmount Park. Under the framework of this residency and with support from the Knight Foundation, Fairmount Park Conservancy partnered with Amber Art & Design to embark on a long-term community initiative in the neighborhood of Strawberry Mansion, which borders East Fairmount Park along the 33rd St. corridor. The work accomplished and relationships formed during this residency serves as a foundation for the next phase of Hatfield House as a community driven arts hub.

West Park Arts Fest

West Fairmount Park

West Park Arts Fest is a free annual festival produced by the West Park Cultural Center, a community-based organization providing arts education and programs to residents of all ages. The festival is a showcase for visual artists, musicians, dancers, craft vendors, and local institutions and nonprofit partners. At the event, visitors of all ages can enjoy performances, art activities, vendors, food and historic tours.

Boxers' Trail Signage

East Fairmount Park

In collaboration with local agency Little Giant Creative (LGC), Fairmount Park Conservancy has planned a series of informative panels to celebrate the Boxers’ Trail, the Philadelphia Parks and Recreation Department’s boxing programs across the city, and the Philadelphia’s rich boxing history. The panels will be installed at the intersection of Dauphin Street and Greenland Drive in East Fairmount Park.

Strawberry Mansion Reimagines Mander

East Fairmount Park

Fairmount Park Conservancy, in partnership with the Strawberry Mansion Community Development Corporation (SMCDC), is working with the Strawberry Mansion community on a comprehensive design and engagement process for East Fairmount Park’s Mander Playground & Recreation Center. The design and engagement process will lead to a comprehensive, phased vision plan for future improvements at Mander Playground and the 22-acre campus of East Fairmount Park that surrounds it.

The Oval+

Benjamin Franklin Parkway

The Oval began as an experiment in activating underutilized public space in the summer of 2013. Since then, Fairmount Park Conservancy and Philadelphia Parks & Recreation have worked in partnership to bring the Oval to the Parkway, transforming an eight-acre surface parking lot into a vibrant seasonal destination with games, fitness, and activities for people of all ages.

Anarchist's Guide to Historic House Museums
