Announcing the Public Spaces Summer Workshop Series!

Fairmount Park Conservancy in partnership with Philadelphia Parks and Recreation, the Free Library of Philadelphia, Philadelphia Parks Alliance, and the Knight Foundation, are proud to offer the Public Spaces Summer Workshop Series! 

Please join us for a series of exciting summer workshops designed for community members and public space advocates and volunteers:

  • Learn skills to build community. 
  • Meet your neighbors as well as public space advocates and volunteers.
  • Share ideas and build connections across parks, recreation centers, and libraries throughout the city.

Of the 23 summer workshops, many are geared toward park advocates, including a session on how to become a Park Friend!


Park Friends Network 101

Learn about our amazing Park Friends Network, a group of over 130 friends groups across Philadelphia, and the resources available to support your work!


GivePulse 101: Recruiting & Managing Volunteers

Learn about GivePulse, a web-based volunteer management system that can help your group recruit and manage volunteers.


How to Run a Volunteer Cleanup

Learn the basics of planning and executing a cleanup or workday in your space!
