4 ways to explore FDR Park this summer

by Melissa Romero on August 11, 2021

There has never been a more exciting time for FDR Park! For the rest of the summer, we encourage park-goers to explore the Lakes via the park’s first-ever scavenger hunt, with help from our Park Hubs and FDR Park Digital Guide, and on guided hikes, bird walks, and more!

1. Play the free FDR Park Scavenger Hunt

The first-ever FDR Park Scavenger Hunt is happening now! Discover the lesser-known spots throughout FDR, complete missions, and win prizes (such as gift certificates to South Philadelphia businesses and restaurants!). Sign up to play here

2. Explore on your own with a new map and digital guide

FDR Park now has its very own official map! Find the map at three Park Hubs installed throughout the park. These hubs also include portable restrooms and hand-sanitizing stations. You can also pull up the new FDR Park Digital Guide to explore the park on-the-go!

3. Join us for birdwalks, tasting tours, and more

From tree tours to birdwalks to salsa dancing, there are plenty of fun events for everyone at FDR Park this summer. The Conservancy’s lineup of events are guided by local experts and tickets are available on a sliding pay scale. Check out all of the events here.

4. Imagine a new play space at FDR

As part of the FDR Park Master Plan, the park is getting a new play space! Please share your ideas and thoughts about what you want to see at this new play space all summer long. To participate, visit https://myphillypark.org/pattisonplayground-engagement/.
