Amanda joined the Fairmount Park Conservancy in May 2022. In her role as Park Program Specialist, Amanda works to develop and implement public programs throughout the park system. Prior to joining the Conservancy, Amanda spent over a decade working in environmental education at various zoos and nature centers throughout the country. Most recently she worked as the Manager of Public Programs at the Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education where she oversaw the center’s summer camp program as well as all large and small-scale events and festivals.
Amanda graduated from Elizabethtown College in 2009 with a BS in Environmental Science/Biology. In her spare time, she enjoys running, making mosaics, going to the shore, and exploring nature (always with a field guide in hand). She lives in Roxborough with her husband, a Philadelphia school teacher, and their cat, HTC. Amanda is excited to bring her passion for environmental education to programming at the Conservancy and looks forward to learning about the parks and meeting program participants.
