How to enjoy West Fairmount Park this spring and summer

by Grace Romo on May 30, 2024

There are so many ways to experience the beloved West Fairmount Park! Fairmount Park Conservancy has been dedicated to improving West Fairmount Park since 2005, partnering with local community members and investing over $9 million in new park spaces, trail enhancements, natural land management, and community-focused programming. Today, we’re sharing several ways to enjoy West Park in the coming months:

Visit us at West Park Arts Fest

West Park Arts Fest is just around the corner on Saturday, June 8. This free community festival, hosted by the West Park Cultural Center and sponsored by the Conservancy, runs from 1 – 6 p.m. on South Concourse Drive between East Memorial Drive and 41st Street and features visual artists, musicians, dancers, craft vendors, and local organizations.

Stop to visit the Conservancy at the new Parkside Pop-Up Play Space created by  Tiny WPA to share feedback on design ideas for the Welsh Fountain. The Conservancy is also hosting a We Walk PHL pop-up walk, tours of the Carousel House Farm with Farm Philly, and more!

Walk With Us

The Conservancy, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, and the Department of Public Health are thrilled to offer several locations to join a group walk in the park through the We Walk PHL program. Join the West Fairmount Park walking group on Thursdays from 12 – 1 p.m. during the spring season until June 30! The We Walk PHL Facebook group is a great way to connect with the program for pop-up walks, updates, information, and inspiration all year round.
