Aviator Park, located on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway adjacent to The Franklin Institute and Moore College of Art + Design, serves as an open, green, family-friendly oasis. In 2007, the park underwent an extensive renovation with new paved walkways, plantings, benches, trash receptacles and light fixtures.

In addition to its relaxing green space, Aviator Park also hosts a number of public artworks including the Aero Memorial by Paul Manship and the All Wars Memorial to Colored Soldiers and Sailors by J. Otto Schweizer.

Lardner’s Point Park(Neighborhood Parks)

Lardner’s Point is a major trailhead for the North Delaware Riverfront Greenway Trail. It provides space to walk, bicycle, and relax along a very scenic stretch of the Delaware just below the iconic Tacony-Palmyra Bridge. Visitors fish from the pier, picnic at handicap-accessible tables, observe wildlife, and traverse a multi-use path through native meadows. Interpretive signage highlights the history of the site and the park’s restored freshwater tidal wetlands, meadows and riparian forest. The park’s varied habitats attract many birds, amphibians, insects, and fish. Visitors have spotted bald eagles, striped bass, Eastern red-bellied turtles, owls, and more.
