Tom McPoyle joined the Fairmount Park Conservancy team in April 2006. As Director of Conservation, Tom leads the Conservancy’s preservation services program. With a team of highly skilled preservation tradespeople, Tom and staff provide technical guidance and niche conservation services that help preserve and restore the landmarks, public art, and enduring structures of the Philadelphia park system. Along with managing the operations of the preservation program, Tom presents hands-on preservation workshops and tries to make techniques for repairing old buildings understandable to all skill levels.

Tom began his career replicating decorative finishes in historic buildings, including the PA State Capitol, and has over 20 years of experience in the preservation trades. He studied fine art in college and earned a BFA in sculpture from the University of Delaware. His favorite park is East Fairmount Park, where the park first began with the purchase of Lemon Hill.
