Fairmount Park Conservancy works with Philadelphia Parks & Recreation to establish a variety of private businesses throughout the park system to bring new amenities and enhance the visitor experience.

Concessionaires offer the facilities, services, and goods that the city could not otherwise provide, ranging from traditional food services like the Cosmic Cafe at Lloyd Hall to The Oval, a summer pop-up park that contracts with food trucks and a local restaurateur for a pop-up beer garden. Within the system’s historic parks, concessionaires help Fairmount Park Conservancy achieve its interpretation and education mission by providing new and exciting ways for park users to experience Fairmount Park. These programs add vitality, interest, and excitement to the fascinating history preserved and protected by the city of Philadelphia.

Parks on Tap

“Parks on Tap” is a travelling community beer garden that spends multi-day residencies at diverse locations throughout the City’s park system, highlighting and enhancing the offerings our parks provide.

Parks on Tap introduces residents and visitors to Philadelphia’s incredible, and often unknown, assets and helps them experience familiar parks in new ways. The program encourages people to discover, use, enjoy and support open park space.

Parks on Tap draws people into the parks, providing ample seating, restrooms and additional amenities for all to enjoy.  It features concession trucks with regional craft beers, wine, a selection of non-alcoholic beverages, and a menu of delicious, picnic-style food selections.  Guests enjoy an enhanced social experience through special activities such as live music and games on site in addition to each park’s unique activities and events.  A portion of the proceeds benefits Philadelphia’s parks.
