Finding Joy in the Snow: Philly Parks in Winter

by Fairmount Park Conservancy on February 3, 2026

The groundhog has spoken, and it looks like winter will continue for a little while longer. Across Philadelphia, our parks have embraced the season, transforming into snow-covered spaces for peaceful moments, playful adventures, and everything in between. Park Friends groups from neighborhoods all over the city captured these scenes, from quiet, wintry landscapes to joyful days spent sledding and exploring. These photos are a reminder that even in the heart of winter, our parks offer welcoming places to step outside, connect with nature, and enjoy the magic of a snowy day.
