Our Staff

Sarah Peterson joined the Fairmount Park Conservancy team in January 2024. As the Director of Communications, Sarah oversees the Conservancy’s communications, public relations, advocacy, and marketing strategies.

Before joining the Conservancy, Sarah worked for the City of Philadelphia in multiple communications leadership roles, and most recently served as Mayor Kenney’s Communications Director. Sarah’s experience working on a wide range of municipal issues has shaped her deep appreciation for public parks as vital resources for communities’ health, safety, connections, and resilience.

Sarah holds degrees from Swarthmore College and Temple University’s Klein College of Media and Communications. Outside of work she enjoys running, rock climbing, and pottery.
