Rachel Bruce

Rachel Bruce joined the Conservancy as Institutional Giving Coordinator in May 2022. Rachel assists with corporate, foundation, and government grant management, researches new funding and partnership prospects, and supports other development functions within the organization. Prior to joining the Conservancy, Rachel spent five years as an Environmental Scientist in the transportation industry, conducting wetland delineations and preparing environmental permits in accordance with State and Federal regulations.

Rachel graduated from Saint Joseph’s University in 2016 with a BS in Environmental Science and a minor in English. Rachel wrote her senior departmental thesis on nature’s interconnectedness with human identity and is passionate about protecting our natural lands and strengthening communities’ bonds to their public open spaces. She loves reading (an active member of two book clubs), visiting her local parks and hiking spots in South Jersey, trying new recipes, and creating opportunities to laugh and connect with friends and family. Rachel has spent many weekends hiking through Wissahickon Valley Park and is excited to visit other parks throughout Philadelphia’s vibrant park system.
