John Sigmund joined the Fairmount Park Conservancy team in May 2019. In his role as Director of Partnerships & Sponsorships, John is responsible for developing relationships with the business sector and other nonprofit organizations to further the mission of the Conservancy. His work is particularly focused on creating corporate sponsorship campaigns to support the public programming and activation events in Fairmount Park and FDR Park.

John is a multidisciplinary artist, history lover, and urban park enthusiast with years of experience as a nonprofit manager and arts educator. In his nonprofit work, John initiated and managed many large events for artistic students and their families, as well as special fundraisers, lectures, and workshops. Born and raised in Philadelphia, he spent a decade living in Austin, San Antonio, and New York City but made a happy homecoming to go back to school at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. John has the proud distinction of actually living in Fairmount Park – he and his partner Jaime are resident caretakers at Lemon Hill Mansion. For five years prior, they were caretakers and tour guides at Woodford Mansion. Although Lemon Hill is his home base, John is an enthusiastic advocate for all of the historic houses in the park system and he loves sharing stories of the park’s fascinating past.
