Highlights from Love Your Park Fall 2022

On Saturday, November 12th, over 1,000 volunteers celebrated our annual Love Your Park Fall Service Day in 80 Philly parks!

Twice a year, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and Fairmount Park Conservancy host a citywide Love Your Park cleanup in partnership with the Park Friends Network. Most Love Your Park events are organized by community-run Park Friends Groups who help to steward our city’s public parks. Beyond keeping our parks clean and green, many Park Friends Groups have reclaimed their local parks as positive spaces in their neighborhoods through years of hard work, dedication, and collaboration.

At this year’s signature site, FDR Park in South Philadelphia, over 100 volunteers joined Fairmount Park Conservancy, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, and the Friends of FDR Park to help prepare the park for winter by planting trees, shrubs, and bulbs, removing invasive species, raking, mulching, and picking up trash.

Across Philly, volunteers dedicated their Saturdays to loving their park. Check out some photo highlights below!
