The J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge is the world’s largest corporate running event, taking place in 16 locations across eight countries and six continents. We are thrilled to announce that the Corporate Challenge will be returning to Philadelphia on Thursday, October 10, 2024, and Fairmount Park Conservancy is honored to once again be the proud beneficiary!
One part run and one part party, the 3.5-mile race kicks off at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and traces a route along the Schuylkill River and Kelly Drive in East Fairmount Park. After crossing the finish line, runners get to celebrate and socialize with colleagues over food and drinks at the post-race party. Companies can participate by registering a Company Team. Whether you’re a runner or a walker, a new hire or a seasoned employee, a large corporation or a start-up, everyone is invited to join!

With funding from the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge Philadelphia over the past five years, the Conservancy has invested in a number of projects and programs benefiting Philadelphia’s parks. Thanks in part to their generous support, the Conservancy has:
- Hosted more than 150 public events on an annual basis focused on culture, nature, and health – attended by more than 10,000 people each year
- Planted over 10,000 trees as part of the implementation of the Philly Tree Plan, working to build the tree canopy in the city’s natural areas and watershed parks
- Organized nearly 200 Love Your Park Service Days across Philadelphia with the help of more than 3,000 registered volunteers
- Engaged nearly 1,500 volunteers through individual and corporate workdays
- Hosted the We Walk PHL walking and social club at 18 park sites across the city
- Completed an extensive upgrade of the lighting of the iconic Boathouse Row
- Cut the ribbon on the Trolley Trail in West Fairmount Park
- Completed the Anna C. Verna Playground in FDR Park
JPMorganChase received the Centennial Award for Corporate Stewardship in recognition of their generous ongoing support at the Conservancy’s 13th Annual Centennial Celebration earlier this year.
“Our parks are a wonderful way of celebrating what makes us uniquely human,” said Maura McCarthy, Fairmount Park Conservancy’s Chief Executive Officer. “JPMorganChase has been a visionary partner in exploring how we can get people to be the most critical piece of infrastructure in our park system. Their annual giving to the park system has ensured that we’re able to support programs that serve all of Philadelphia.”
