Our family field days are on the move! This summer, our much-loved day of games, music, and community fun made its East Fairmount Park debut. On Saturday, July 26, 2025, kids and families gathered at Mander Recreation Center for a vibrant Family Field Day hosted by Fairmount Park Conservancy along with partners Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, Strawberry Mansion CDC, and Philadelphia Youth Sports Collaborative.

Jump Start Sports and Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association provided a variety of sports activities for children of all ages, including soccer, baseball, and basketball. Partners includingVolo, Starfinder Foundation, and the Office of Sustainability also joined with resources and information for community members.

The field day also featured a live DJ, exciting prizes, and free face painting with Let’s Rock Recess as well as crafts with Smith Memorial’s Pop-up Playhouse. And special thanks to Councilmember Jeffery Young, Jr. and his team for stopping by the event!

The fun doesn’t stop here – Family Field Day is heading to West Fairmount Park this fall! Join us on Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. for a fun-filled day at the Rugby Fields at Welsh Fountain including youth sports, music, prizes, face-painting, pay-as-you-go food trucks, and more.
