Belmont Plateau Trails

The Belmont Plateau Trails are known for their rugged, forested slopes, lush meadows, and tree-lined creeks. Encompassing a network of several miles of trails including a cross country course that has been a local staple since the 1960's, these trails are used by mountain bikers, hikers, and runners. Fairmount Park Conservancy offers guided runs and hikes here throughout the seasons. Check our events page for more information. Carousel House

Carousel House is dedicated to providing socialization, recreational and educational services to persons with disabilities who reside throughout the Philadelphia area. The 6.4 acre indoor and outdoor complex includes a picnic area, garden, playground, and fitness track.

Fairmount Park Horticulture Center

100 North Horticultural Drive, Philadelphia, PA 19131

The Horticulture Center, a modern exhibition hall and greenhouse, is located in beautiful Fairmount Park. The Center was built in 1979 and sits on the site of the former Horticultural Hall, and the 1876 Centennial Exposition building. The grounds and greenhouses are open daily and the venue can host private parties from 100 to 1,200 guests. The Horticulture Center can be reached at 215.685.0096.

Martin Puryear’s Pavilion in the Trees is an amenity located near the Horticulture Center in West Fairmount Park. A 60 foot walkway leads across a natural basin to an observation platform—a square deck covered by a latticed canopy—that rises twenty-four feet above the ground

Please Touch Museum

A museum that focuses on teaching children through interactive exhibits and special events. In 2005, the museum moved to Memorial Hall (in Fairmount Park), the last major building left from the 1876 Centennial Exposition.

Shofuso Japanese House & Garden

Shofuso Japanese House and Garden, Philadelphia, PA, United States

Shofuso in its present incarnation was built in Nagoya, Japan in 1953, using traditional materials and techniques, exhibited at MoMA as part of “The House in the Museum Garden” series, and moved to the temple gate site in Philadelphia when the exhibition closed in 1958.
