Come volunteer with us for a community workday at the Johnny Sample Recreation Center in Cobbs Creek Park!
Join Fairmount Park Conservancy for a Community Volunteer Workday!
Join us on Tuesday, April 14th, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM as we help refresh the gardens at Cobbs Creek Recreation Center with perennial cutbacks, weeding, and mulching.
We’ll provide all necessary tools, supplies, and materials for the workday, including gloves.
We look forward to working with you!
EVENT TIMELINE:
9:00 AM – Volunteer check-in
9:10 AM – Project overview & tool safety
9:20 AM – Begin workday
11:45 AM – Wrap-up workday
12:00 PM – Big thank you & group photo!
MEETING LOCATION: Walking entrance, 280 Cobbs Creek Pkwy, Philadelphia, PA 19139
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO:

In general, please wear comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty.

Sturdy, closed-toe shoes like boots or sneakers are required (no ballet flats, flip-flops, or sandals).

We strongly recommend wearing long pants that cover your ankles and long sleeves to protect your arms.

Please bring a reusable water bottle. We will provide jugs for refilling.

Volunteers are also required to wear gloves while working. Gloves will be provided, but you are also welcome to bring your own.

You may also want to consider wearing a hat or sunglasses.
- There is street parking available.
INCLEMENT WEATHER PROTOCOL:
This workday will take place in light rain. In the event of heavy rain or other severe conditions, the workday will be canceled and registrants will be notified.
