Darren joined the Fairmount Park Conservancy team in July 2024. In his role as Director of Landscape, Darren is responsible for strengthening the Conservancy’s ability to shape and steward key landscapes in order to provide ecological uplift, critical habitat, and provide benefits of public health and beauty to Philadelphians through land management and horticultural leadership.

Darren graduated from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry with a Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture. Prior to joining the Conservancy, Darren spent 22 years as a practicing landscape architect and ecological designer, collaborating with diverse client groups on a broad range of project typologies. His work focused on curating landscapes that fostered a balance between the creation and rehabilitation of ecologically rich, regenerative natural systems, and developing thoughtful design solutions that elevated the unique cultural qualities of the communities that he partnered with.

Darren takes every opportunity to get out into the natural environment and spends many hours running or biking the trails of the Wissahickon Valley Park.
