Laura Gomez joined the Fairmount Park Conservancy team in November 2022. In her role as Development & Historic Properties Revenue Specialist, she is a manager of all incoming funds for the organization, including donations, conservation contracts, ticket sales, caretaker licenses, and historic house rents. Apart from processing incoming funds, Laura also collects and coordinates payments for the various services provided by the Conservancy and keeps track of incoming grants. With her careful attention to detail, unwavering commitment to learning, and efficiency, Laura helps to ensure that the organization achieves its financial goals.

Before joining the Conservancy, Laura worked as a full charge bookkeeper for an interpretation and translation agency. This experience reinforced her belief in the importance of language access for all, and inspired her to pursue a career in non-profit accounting. Laura’s educational background includes studying Graphic Design and Statistics at San Francisco State University and Santa Rosa Junior College. She later completed her Bachelor of Science in Accounting at St. Edward’s University in Austin, TX.

Laura expresses herself through cooking, hiking, creating art, including painting, ceramics, and embroidery. You’ll always find her with a coffee in hand, ready to take on new adventures. One of her favorite parks is Rittenhouse Square, where she enjoys reading or listening to the sounds of the city and the vibrant cross-section of people streaming through it. In the summer and fall, she likes riding her bike along the Schuylkill River Trail to Manayunk or spending the afternoon at the South East Asian Market in FDR Park eating empanadas and stuffed chicken wings.
