Jay Stephenson started at Fairmount Park Historic Preservation Trust in the Fall of 2000, specializing in both Stone and Wood Conservation. Jay has worked in the Historic Preservation field and the building industry for over 25 years. With degrees in History and Education, Jay taught Special Education before joining the Conservancy. Some projects of note are the Wissahickon Environmental Center Treehouse Porch, the Sheep Barn and Lemon Hill Comfort Station entryway.
Thoughts of antiques and historic building techniques occupy lots of Jay’s time and study. He finds it an honor to be able to see behind the scenes in some of Philadelphia’s most beautiful, and special homes.
