EmmaKate Martin joined the Fairmount Park Conservancy team in February 2021. In her role as the Farm Philly Manager, EmmaKate is responsible for overseeing the coordination of parkland garden projects with local partners and community groups. EmmaKate supports community gardens in the Park Friends Network, ensuring they have the resources needed to grow food for their families, friends, and neighbors. In addition, EmmaKate provides technical assistance and pathways to resources for the other urban agriculture projects within Farm Philly. She also assists in the implementation of the Urban Agriculture Plan recommendations and the creation of the new Office of Urban Agriculture.

Before joining the Conservancy, EmmaKate worked with Farm Philly for seven years through the Philadelphia Parks and Recreation Department. Previously she co-ran a small-scale organic vegetable farm and helped found a producer-run farmers market in Lancaster, PA. EmmaKate’s favorite vegetables to grow are tomatoes and carrots!
