Temporary Production Assistant and Docent Positions for In Motion, In Place
Pioneering choreographer Trisha Brown changed the landscape of modern dance, placing it in new contexts and pushing the boundaries of the genre. In September 2019, Fairmount Park Conservancy presents In Motion, In Place: Trisha Brown Dance Company in Fairmount Park, a series of three free works by the groundbreaking creator. In Roof Piece, the rooftops of iconic cultural institutions around Logan Circle serve as an expansive stage for 360-degree choreography. The newly reopened Strawberry Mansion Reservoir at the Discovery Center becomes a stage in Raft Piece. In Foray Forêt, the wooded grounds of Mount Pleasant mansion host dancers in golden costumes designed by artist Robert Rauschenberg.
Fairmount Park Conservancy seeks temporary staff to assist with the production of Roof Piece and to help with audience interpretation at each of the performance locations. Applicants must be able to commit to all dates associated with a specific position. The Roof Piece Production Assistant commitment is September 23-25; Docents commit to September 24-25 and/or September 28-29. Applicants may apply for and be assigned to two positions if the commitment dates/times do not overlap.
