Join science educator and passionate bird watcher Jason Hall for a friendly, all-ages bird watching walk around West Park. Jason is a scientist, photographer, animal lover, and community activist who is passionate about sharing the wonders of nature here in Philadelphia with others.

We’ll start at Concourse Lake and make our way over to Centennial Lake and other excellent birding spots in the Centennial District of West Fairmount Park. Concourse and Centennial Lakes have many regular residents such as wood ducks, a massive great blue heron, and even a bald eagle! These bodies of water also serve as “rest stops” on the highway for the spring migration of many spectacular species, so you’ll be delighted by the diversity of winged creatures hidden in plain sight in West Park!
