Join stargazers of all ages at the Lemon Hill Plateau to learn about the astronomical wonders of the night sky. After sunset at 8:30 pm, we’ll gaze at Venus (until 9:50 pm), Mars (until 10:30 pm), and the the quarter moon- the best phase for seeing it’s textured surface! 

Novice and experienced astronomers alike will be given insights and tips by experienced instructor Buddy Muhler. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own telescopes or high powered binoculars. Limited telescopes available to view from with sanitation protocol in place.

ATTENDEE INSTRUCTIONS: KNOW BEFORE YOU GO:
– If you have binoculars or a telescope, please bring it! There will be limited equipment to share (with cleaning measures in place)
– Bring a folding chair
– Please dress according to weather conditions.
– Bring water and a snack
-There are nearby bathrooms (port-a-potties)
-Appropriate for adults & mature adolescents (minors must be ticketed and accompanied by a guardian)

PARKING: there is plenty of free parking in the park. As always, NEVER leave valuables in your car! 

CAP / COVID PROTOCOL: COVID-19 PROTOCOLS: By registering for this event you are agreeing to follow ALL of these protocols:

-This event has limited capacity. Please only register if you fully intend to attend and let us know if you need to cancel ASAP.
-Participants must maintain 6 feet of distance from one another during the event.
-Please bring a mask. We encourage you to wear it if you’re in proximity to others.
-If you or anyone in your household are exhibiting COVID-19 systems, please stay home.

POSTPONEMENT / CANCELLATION POLICY: In the event of rain or cloudy skies, the event will be rescheduled on Thursday, June 17. If conditions persist, the event will be cancelled and attendees are eligible for a full refund. 

PRESENTER(S) BIO: Buddy Muhler is an amateur astronomer who formerly worked as a science educator at The Franklin Institute. He has over 15 years experience operating telescopes and educating the public on astronomy.
