Where: Lemon Hill Picnic Pavilion Lemon Hill Dr, Philadelphia, PA 19130 

Join astronomy educator Buddy Muhler and stargazers of all ages at Lemon Hill and Belmont Plateau (location changes each month-see below) to learn about the astronomical wonders of the night sky. We’ll gaze at planets and the waxing crescent moon- the best phase for seeing it’s textured surface!

Novice and experienced astronomers alike will be given insights and tips by experienced instructor Buddy Muhler. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own telescopes or high powered binoculars. Limited telescopes available to view from with sanitation protocol in place. 

TICKET PRICES: Pay what you can – $10, $15, or $20

– If you have binoculars or a telescope, please bring it! There will be limited equipment to share (with cleaning measures in place)
– Bring a folding chair
– Please dress according to weather conditions.
– Bring water and a snack
-There are nearby bathrooms (port-a-potties)
-Appropriate for adults & mature adolescents (minors must be ticketed and accompanied by a guardian)

PARKING: There is plenty of free parking in the park. As always, NEVER leave valuables in your car!

-This event has limited capacity. Please only register if you fully intend to attend and let us know if you need to cancel ASAP.
-Participants must maintain 6 feet of distance from one another during the event.
-Please bring a mask. We encourage you to wear it if you’re in proximity to others.
-If you or anyone in your household are exhibiting COVID-19 systems, please stay home.

PRESENTER(S) BIO: Buddy Muhler is an amateur astronomer who formerly worked as a science educator at The Franklin Institute. He has over 15 years experience operating telescopes and educating the public on astronomy.
