What is a Sound Bath?
Essentially, a sound bath is a meditation class with ambient sound played by the instructor that aims to guide you into a deeper meditative state. Sound baths use singing bowls and other traditional instruments to play repetitive notes at different frequencies to help bring your focus away from your obsessive thoughts. Think of it as an improvised meditative “concert” in the unique setting that combines nature and built environment.

INSTRUCTOR BIO: Eunmi, a former fashion designer and current fabric artist, immigrated from Seoul, Korea to the United States in 2016 and has since settled down in the Philadelphia region. She began studying traditional Buddhist meditative yoga, inspired by her traditional Buddhist upbringing, over 18 years ago while still living in Korea and has now merged those philosophies with the international Vinyasa style.

Eunmi, a 500 hour RYT, completed her initial 200 hour yoga teacher certification at Wake Up Yoga under Corina Benner here in Philadelphia. Always looking to grow, Eunmi continued her education with 300 hours of study at Aligned Yoga under Briony Smith with a focus on alignment, anatomy, advanced postures/poses, pranayama/breathing techniques, and mindfulness.

For Eunmi, yoga is a lifestyle. She is a devoted yoga instructor who has a style all her own. It is both instinctive, yet steeped in the traditional aspects of yoga. For her, Flow is the natural state of being. She will invite you to listen to the wisdom of your body and be curious. Her classes focus on breath, alignment, Flow, and the interconnection between mind, body, and spirit; allowing students to work at their own pace in a safe and empowering environment. She closes each class, during Savasana, with healing vibrations from her unique Full Moon Tibetan Singing Bowls that helps to quiet the mind and align the spirit.

In addition to yoga, Eunmi has dedicated herself to the art of sound healing. She has completed her 250 hours Sound Healing Certification in order to help people mend their bodies and mind through the use of sonic vibrations. These restorative sounds are produced by a set of healing instruments that include Tibetan and Crystal singing bowls as well as others. When she plays her healing bowls, the experience can be both calming and wonderous. As a one time Astronomy major at the University of Chungbuk, she equates the feeling she gets from these sounds to those when one looks up at the stars in the endless night sky through a telescope. Tranquil, Serene, Powerful…

Lastly, she has also completed her Restorative Yoga Certification at Yoga International under Cyndi Lee to help people relax physically, mentaly, and emotionally and to find inner peace in a safe place.
