WHAT TO EXPECT: We will complete a trail run on the Boxers’ Trail in East Fairmount Park where boxing legend Joe Frazier and many others trained. You will get to see a glimpse of the future pedestrian crosswalk that will connect Mander Playground to the Schuylkill River crossing Kelly Drive at Randolph Creek. There will be a 3 mile and 6 mile option – you can play it by ear and see what feels right as we are running. We’ll pause at a few points to make sure the group remains intact. The runs will be lead by either John Goldthorp of Fix Your Run or Alon Abramson of the West Philly Runners.
WHAT TO WEAR: Wear typical running clothes and be prepared to get a little muddy. Trail running shoes are advised, but not required. You may appreciate the extra traction.
WHAT TO BRING: We ask that you bring your own water bottle and water! If you carpool – you can store it in someone’s car during the run.
GETTING THERE: Mount Pleasant Mansion in East Fairmount Park is accessible via SEPTA bus 3 and 32 (may need to walk to get there). Visit SEPTA for more info. Car parking available. Bike parking also available.
