Join the Fairmount Park Conservancy and Opera Philadelphia for free performances at FDR Park on September 10 from 6:30—9:00 PM. Bring out the whole family for an evening of live music sets, food trucks, and opera on the big screen! This event is a partnership between the Fairmount Park Conservancy and Opera Philadelphia.

7:00: Live performances by baritone Kevin Godínez, soprano Ethel Trujillo, and pianist Ting Ting Wong
7:30: Outdoor movie screening of Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel (Spanish and English subtitles)

In Opera Ithaca’s 90-minute adaptation of Engelbert Humperdinck’s classic, two children lost in the woods are captured by a celebrity chef witch, who hosts the kids on her cooking show as both the guest stars…and the main ingredients.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO:

• This event will take place outdoors on the lawn of FDR Park’s Olmsted Overlook (gazebo).
• The gazebo is to the left of the boathouse in between the boathouse and the playground.
• Please dress for the weather.
• Bring your own water (there are no drinking fountains available in the park).
• Guests are invited to pack their own picnic dinner with blankets or chairs.
• There are nearby bathrooms (porta-potties).
• Bring sunscreen and bug spray.

PARKING/GETTING THERE: There is a small lot next to the gazebo with limited free parking. There is a larger lot with free parking between the boathouse and the Swedish Museum — a short walk away from the gazebo. If traveling by public transit, use SEPTA to travel to Broad Street Line’s NRG Station (last stop). The nearest Indego bike station is at Broad and Pattison.
