Bird Philly: Bartram’s Garden
April 25, 2015
7:00am – 10:00am
With river access, fields, woodlands, wetlands, and ornamental plantings, this spot has an amazing diversity of bird-attracting habitat. We expect to see late wintering waterfowl with early arriving breeders and migrants like warblers and orioles (both species).
BirdPhilly is an initiative of the Delaware Valley Ornithological Club. Founded in 1890, the DVOC has been based at the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia since 1891. Through BirdPhilly our goal is to increase interest and awareness of the region’s birds by providing quality birding experiences on expertly guided field trips. Most field trips are free, and open to kids and adults. BirdPhilly will also spotlight valuable conservation programs and projects and raise funds for them by hosting an event called the Philadelphia Bird Race. The Fairmount Park Conservancy and Philadelphia Parks & Recreation are partners to the BirdPhilly program.
Meeting Location: 5400 Lindbergh Boulevard, Philadelphia, PA 19143
This is a free, all-ages event. The more, the merrier!
