The Conservancy works with Philadelphia parks and recreation to establish a variety of private businesses throughout the Philadelphia parks system to bring new amenities and enhance the visitor experience.

Concessionaires offer the facilities, services, and goods that the city could not otherwise provide, ranging from traditional food services like the Cosmic Cafe at Lloyd Hall to The Oval, a summer pop-up park that contracts with food trucks and a local restaurateur for a pop-up beer garden. Within the system’s historic parks, concessionaires help the Conservancy achieve its interpretation and education mission by providing new and exciting ways for park users to experience Fairmount Park. These programs add vitality, interest, and excitement to the fascinating history preserved and protected by the city of Philadelphia.
